History
The early history of the shop is a little sketchy. It first opened in Boscombe as a jewellers and pawnbrokers in either 1900 or 1901 and the shop front you see today is largely the original. It was moved a few hundred yards to its present site in 1923.
My grandfather, George, purchased the shop in 1945 and was joined by my father, Harold, in 1946, it has remained in the family ever since, my father now in his eighties still works in the shop.
I joined the business in 1980 having completed my training in London and Switzerland. In 1986 the shop was refitted. The original shop front remained unchanged, the inside though was totally transformed giving almost three times the showroom space, giving a more relaxed atmosphere where you can take pleasure in just browsing or sit down with a member of staff to take a closer look.
